In October 2024, the Opéra Urbain de La Machine dazzled 1.2 million spectators, surpassing the 900,000 in 2018.
Also recognised as a ‘City of Music’ by Unesco, the city vibrates all year round thanks to festivals such as Rio Loco and Jazz sur son 31, and must-see venues such as the Opéra du Capitole, le Bikini, and Metronum.
In terms of heritage, Toulouse is a fascinating place, with the Basilique Saint-Sernin, the emblematic Capitole and the vaults of the Jacobins Convent.
Toulouse is also a city on the move! The Marathon of Toulouse Métropole brought together 30,000 runners, against 12,500 in 2019, with the ambition of becoming ‘a great French and European classic’ – according to Bernard Amsallem, President of the French Athletics Federation since 2001.
